Management Is All in the Timing

The most success leaders of any company or business are efficient in timing and managing with sense of urgency when it is needed in the office. The pace an office has can often be determined by the way that management handles the work load. However, speed and urgency won’t win the race alone, they have to be able to manage the time and to manage the urgency as well.

Key Takeaways:

  • Businesses are constantly feeling the time pressure, while humans measure time differently, which can vary widely between cultures.
  • People tend to like coworkers who they naturally align with on pace of work.
  • The most successful leaders set out timetables, but can easily adjust if needed based on team synchronicity and flow.

“Even in the 21st-century fast-track economy, the idea that each minute (or billable hour) of human activity has a constant value is at odds with the basic facts. Humans don’t experience time with linear consistency. All of us feel an ebb and flow of cognitive alertness and physical energy throughout a day.”
